Mining.com.au gets AMEC membership seat
As the resources sector today (22 November) celebrates National Mining and Related Industries Day, fittingly Mining.com.au reveals it’s become an associate member of the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC).
AMEC is the peak industry body representing more than 500 member companies from all across Australia. Its members are explorers, emerging miners, producers and a wide range of businesses working in and for the mining industry – and now the fastest growing mining news publication in the country, Mining.com.au.
While National Mining Day celebrates the enormous contribution of Australia’s mining and related industries to the domestic economy and the livelihood of all Aussies, this news service celebrates its AMEC membership and growth journey so far.
Mining.com.au is a trusted mining news publication that delivers unrivalled coverage of the resources and related industries, providing up-to-the-minute news, in-depth analysis, market trends, technological advancements, environmental considerations, and expert opinions.
Whether it’s investor-focused content, developments in various industries, market trends, or original commentary and analyses from the movers and shakers of the business community, this publication helps investors stay informed about the rapidly evolving mining landscape.
With more than 100,000-plus unique readers per month, 40,000 social media followers, and 14,000-plus subscribers to its weekly LinkedIn newsletter, Mining.com.au sets the agenda for news in the resources sector. Some publications tend to inflate their figures, however with integrity a core value, this news organisation strives for accuracy and believes in transparency with all reporting.
Using state-of-the-art technology and rigorous journalistic standards, Mining.com.au brings together information from Australia and around the world, ensuring readers stay up-to-date with the rapidly evolving mining landscape. Given 76% of readers are based in Asia-Pacific including Australia, 15% domiciled in North America, and a growing presence throughout Europe and other countries, it’s fair to say this news platform truly has global reach.
In a recent survey, 70.3% of readers said Mining.com.au has been influential in helping them build their resource portfolio. Refreshing to know considering 50% of those surveyed have interests in investing.
While 75% of readers are male, heading into 2025 a commitment has been made to cover broader issues and deliver content that appeals to a wider audience including women, youth, and First Nations people, to name a few.
The growth and global expansion of Mining.com.au has only been possible through the vision of founder and Managing Director Christopher Norris, who has relentlessly assembled a team of highly qualified professionals and leaders in their respective fields over the past few years.
Unsurprisingly his vision is very much aligned with AMEC’s, which the association states as ensuring the interests of explorers, emerging miners, and producers are a high priority for governments, and are supported and valued by the community.
AMEC achieves this through advocating on behalf of members and industry, explaining the industry through campaigns and education, hosting exclusive events, and developing innovative and solution driven policy.
Mining.com.au achieves its vision by consistently delivering investor-focused content, updates on developments in various industries, uncovering market trends, or through original commentary and analyses from the movers and shakers of the business community.
With the largest and most diverse membership in the resource industry, AMEC has proven influence and credibility to create positive change for the resources industry.
The association has strict criteria as to which companies it offers membership, and as such Mining.com.au is committed to ensuring it stays worthy of its associate membership.
There are some exciting developments ahead as 2025 nears but in the words of founder Christopher Norris: “At Mining.com.au, we’re just getting started.”
Happy National Mining and Related Industries Day to all.
